Richard Omachona March 12, 2023

Have you ever been in the middle of a rebooting task on your computer, and suddenly it freezes up? It can be a frustrating situation, especially when it happens multiple times.

This article will look at some of the best fixes for rebooting a freezing computer. We’ll also discuss some preventative measures you can take to help keep your computer running smoothly and prevent the computer from freezing shortly after booting.

Why does my computer keep freezing then crashing?

Various reasons can cause computer freezing, from hardware to software problems. The computer sometimes freezes when booting up. These freezes can be so severe that they can lead to crashes.

Reasons why computer freezes occur may include the following:

  • Insufficient RAM: If your computer has insufficient RAM, it may cause it to run slowly and freeze up, leading to crashing. An instance of this is that your PC freezes and restarts when gaming.
  • Overheating: If your computer is getting too hot, it may cause it to freeze and crash.
  • Software Issues: If your computer’s software is outdated, corrupted, or incompatible, it could lead to freezing and crashing.
  • Malware: If your computer is battling with malware, it can slow down the system and cause it to freeze and crash. The PC can restart or show a black screen other than a computer freeze.
  • Hardware Issues: If your computer’s hardware is failing or outdated, it could cause the system to freeze and crash.
  • Corrupted Operating System Files: If your computer is freezing and crashing, there may be an issue with your operating system files. PC freezes can occur randomly.

We will now dive into solutions that can help solve the issues observed above and even address issues that we may not have identified.
