Evbda.sys BSOD Errors: [Best 4 Solutions]

The evbda.sys blue screen of death BSOD is something most PC users dread. It can appear to be a worrisome issue for most people and they tend to spend a huge amount of time fixing this problem.

Although the specific cause of this problem is unknown, there are various troubleshooting steps you can take to fix this error.

If like many users, you have this same problem, you have come to the right article because we are going to explore some of the common causes of evbda.sys BSOD errors and how to fix them.

What is Evbda.sys?

Evbda.sys generally appears as a blue screen of death error with white texts informing you that there is a problem with your PC and the system needs to restart.

This error can render your PC unusable, preventing successful Windows boot, and can make your computer go into an endless loop.

This issue can be caused by various factors, including:

  • Corrupt device drivers – When device drivers are faulty, it could lead to your PC crashing and displaying the error.
  • Corrupted system files – This error can occur as a result of system files being corrupted.
  • Outdated drivers – If a PC is running on outdated drivers, it will be impossible for your operating system to contact the hardware devices resulting in system crash.
  • Hardware failure – When there is a failure or malfunction in one or more hardware components, this error will be displayed.
  • Incompatibility of hardware with new software – This error can also occur when hardware components fail to work with new software.
  • Faulty peripheral devices – Malfunctioning peripheral devices like external mouse, keyboard, USB Hub etc. Can cause this issue.

How can I fix evbda.sys errors?

1. Scan your PC for malware and virus

  1. Click Windows + I and select Update & Security.

2. Update device drivers

  1. Click Windows + X and select Device Manager.

3. Use system restore point

  1. In the search box located at the bottom left corner of your screen, type Create a restore point and click Open.
  2. Choose the System Restore button to open the System Restore window.
  3. Click on the Next option.

  5. Make sure to read the confirmation message and then click Finish.

4. Verify and remove peripheral devices for issues

Many at times, the error could be caused by a faulty or malfunctioning device such as external mouse, keyboard, printer, webcam, etc. Try removing these devices one after the other to discover the problem.

If you find a faulty device, connect it to another computer to see if it will work without malfunctioning. If it doesn’t work, you may need to manually install a compatible driver for the device.

You should try installing the latest available version from your computer manufacturer’s site or from the official website. If the problem continues, downgrade to an earlier version of the driver for the device.
