Windows 11 Insider Preview Build KB5022363

Rebecca O. March 18, 2023

Microsoft has recently announced the release of two new Insider Preview builds for Windows 11, namely, Build 22621.1180 and Build 22623.1180 (KB5022363).

These builds are part of the Windows Insider Program, which allows Windows enthusiasts and developers to try out upcoming Windows features and provide feedback to Microsoft.

Both builds come with several new features, improvements, and bug fixes that enhance the overall user experience of Windows 11.

This guide will look closely at some notable changes with this build, including:

  • New Features in KB5022363
  • Improvements
  • Bug Fixes
  • The Settings app cloud storage upgrade
  • How can I download Build KB5022363?

New Features in KB5022363

One of the most significant new features in these builds is the integration of Microsoft Teams directly into the Windows 11 Taskbar.

With this feature, users can easily join meetings, chat with friends and colleagues, and access other Teams features without opening the app separately. This integration will make collaboration and communication more seamless for Windows 11 users.

Another notable feature in these builds is the improved virtual desktops. Virtual desktops allow users to create separate desktop environments for different purposes, such as work, entertainment, or personal use.

With these builds, users can customize their virtual desktops by assigning unique backgrounds to each desktop, making it easier to distinguish between them.

Improvements

In addition to new features, these builds also come with several improvements to existing Windows 11 features.

For instance, the Settings app now includes an About page, which provides information about the device’s name, processor, and memory.

The Start menu has also received some enhancements in these builds. The Start menu now includes a Recent category, which displays recently opened files and documents, making it easier for users to access their recent work.

Bug Fixes

As with any software release, these builds also come with several bug fixes that address various issues in Windows 11.

Some notable fixes include resolving an issue that caused the Taskbar to disappear when switching between virtual desktops, fixing an issue that prevented some devices from upgrading to Windows 11, and resolving a problem that caused the Settings app to crash when trying to change the system language.

The Settings app cloud storage upgrade

  • Support for new visuals on the Accounts page providing a visual overview of cloud storage usage for all Microsoft products.
  • Including a consolidated cloud storage bar showing storage usage for individuals, and prompts for when a user runs low on storage.
  • A removed quota bar from the subscriptions card.
  • A new Outlook attachment data in cloud storage.

How can I download Build KB5022363?

  1. Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.

The steps above will only work if you are an Insider. Remember that these builds are pre-release software; you may encounter bugs or issues while using them. However, your feedback is crucial in helping Microsoft improve Windows 11, so don’t hesitate to provide your feedback via the Feedback Hub.

The Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds KB5022363 (22621.1180 and 22623.1180) release is a testament to Microsoft’s commitment to continually improving the Windows 11 experience.

With these builds, Microsoft has introduced new features, improved existing ones, and fixed various issues, all to provide a better user experience.
